RESPONSE OF FARMERS IN HOLULAI VILLAGE, ROTE NORTHWEST SUB-DISTRICK, ROTE REGENCY TO THE USE OF BANANA WEEVIL AS LIQUID ORGANIC FERTILIZER FOR LONG BEAN PLANTS Fikro R. Poi1, Donatus Kantur, SP., MP2, Noldin M. Abolla, SP.,M. Sc3 One of the efforts to increase the productivity of horticultural crops, especially long bean, is to carry out the fertilization stage. Fertilization is an activity to add nutrients to plants that support their growth dan development. In a research conducted in Holulai village, Rote Northwest sub-district, the type of fertilizer used was liquid organic fertilizer from banana weevil. Banana weevil liquid organic fertilizer in the form of solution made from fermented banana humps. This research was aimed to (1) describe farmer’s responses to banana weevil liquid organic fertilizer (2) analyze the relationship between their responses with internal and external factors. This research was conducted from August 13rd November, 2020 and the sample used was 42 people. Data were obtained using questionnaire and interview as instruments. Likert scale and Spearman’s rank correlation were applied to analyze data. The result showed that the responses of farmers were in high category. The results of the Spearman’s rank correlation test indicate that internal and external factors that have a significant relationship with farmers’ knowledge are the level of education, land area, complexity of the result can be observed. While internal dan external factors that have a significant relationship with farmers’attitude are the level of education, land area and the level of technological suitability.
