PENGARUH LAMA DAN SUHU PERENDAMAN AIR KELAPA TERHADAP VIABILITAS CABAI (Capsicum frutescens L.) KADALUARSA

Soaking coconut water has not been known for so long and the temperature needed for
soaking can increase the viability of expired chili seeds. This study aims: 1) Determine
the real effect of soaking time on the viability of expired chili seeds. 2) Know the real
effect of soaking temperature on the viability of expired chili seeds. 3) Determine the real
effect of the interaction between duration and immersion temperature on the viability of
expired chili. 4) Getting one of the best soaking time treatments for viability of expired
chili seeds. 5) Obtain one of the best temperature treatments for viability of expired chilli
seeds 6) Get one of the best old interaction and immersion temperature treatments for
viability of expired chilli seeds. The design used in this study was a factorial Completely
Randomized Design (CRD) and was repeated 4 times, namely 1) Immersion Length
Factors Consists of not soaking, 4 hours, 8 hours and 12 hours. 2) Temperature Factor
Consists of room temperature and refrigerator temperature. The results showed that: 1)
Soaking time had a very significant effect on sprouts, growth potential, vigor test, root
length, sprouts dry weight, and sprouts wet weight. 2) Soaking temperature has a very
significant effect on the germination capacity, vigor test, plant height, root length and
significant effect on growth potential but does not significantly affect the fresh weight of
the sprouts and the dry weight of the sprouts. 3) The interaction between duration of
damping and temperature has a very significant effect on vigor and has a significant
effect on germination and dry weight of sprouts but has no significant effect on growth
potential, plant height, root length and wet weight of sprouts. 4) The viability of the chili
expires in a 4 hour soaking time provides the best response to the growth potential. and
12 hours soaking time gives the best response to germination, vigor, plant height, root
length, wet weight and dry weight of the sprouts. 5) The viability of expired chili at room
temperature gives the best response to growth potential, plant height, root length and
there is no best response to wet weight. 6) The best viability of germination, vigor and
dry weight of expired chili sprouts is found in the interaction of soaking time 12 hours
and immersion temperature at room temperature but there is no interaction between
immersion time and immersion temperature on growth potential, plant height, root length
and wet weight of sprouts
