PRODUKSI HIJAUAN PADANG PENGGEMBALAAN DI KECAMATAN FATULEU KABUPATEN KUPANG

The main target of East Nusa Tenggara province in developing the livestock
sector is to increase livestock productivity. The increase in livestock productivity is
not only seen from the livestock population but needs to be balanced with the
provision of adequate feed. For this reason, one source of forage that can be used by
breeders is natural pasture. This study aims to evaluate the production of fresh
materials, the production of dry matter and the production of organic matter in the
grazing fields of Fatuleu District, Kupang Regency, Ekateta, Naunu and Sillu
Villages. This research was conducted in 3 villages out of 10 villages in Fatuleu
Subdistrict in May-June 2020. This research is a survey research, in which
researchers go directly to the location to collect data. The variables observed in the
study were the production of fresh materials, production of dry matter and production
of organic materials. The results showed that the production of fresh materials in the
pasture of Fatuleu District, Ekateta Village was 0.74 tonnes / ha, Naunu Village 0.84
tonnes / ha and Sillu Village 0.34 tonnes / ha. Dry matter production in Ekateta
Village 0.52 ton / ha, Naunu Village 0.27 ton / ha. Organic matter production in
Ekateta Village 0.51 ton / ha, Naunu Village 0.49 ton / ha and Sillu Village 0.26 ton /
ha.
