KOMPOSISI NUTRIEN SILASE SABUT KELAPA MUDA PADA BERBAGAI LEVEL PENAMBAHAN DEDAK PADI

A study has been conducted to evaluate nutrient composition of young
coconut husk silage fermented with rice bran. The study has been conducted in the
State Agricultural Polytechnic of Kupang for seven months. A completely
randomised design with four treatments and five replicates was utilised. The
treatments were young coconut husk with no rice bran (P0) or the husk plus 4%
(P1), 8% (P2), 12% (P3) of total weight of the silage. Variables measured were
concentrations of dry matter, ash, crude protein, crude fat and crude fibre.
Analysis of variance showed that inclusion of rice bran significantly (P<0.01)
increased all variables measured with the highest rate was recorded for inclusion
of 12% rice bran. It can be concluded that to increase nutrient composition of
young coconut husk silage is to include 12% of rice bran to the silage materials.
