PERFORMANS VEGETATIF RUMPUT GAJAH MINI (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott) AKIBAT VOLUME AIR YANG BERBEDA

This study was aimed to evaluate the vegetative performance of elephant mini-grass
(Pennisetum purpureum cv Mott) due to different level of water. This study had
been carried out at the green fields of fodder in State Agriculture Polytechnic of
Kupang for three months, there were started from May to August 2020. This research
is an experimental that using the completely randomized design with four treatments
and repeated five times. The treatments tried were: level of water (LW) 100 = the
elephant mini-grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv Mott) that given 100% of water,
LW75 = the elephant mini-grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv Mott) that given 75%
of water, LW50 = the elephant mini-grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv Mott) that
given 50% of water, LW25 = the elephant mini-grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv
Mott) that given 25% of water. The observed variables in this research were the
height of plant gain (cm/week), number of sprout gain (number sprout/week) and the
diameter of stem (mm/week). All the data which obtained would be analyzed using
the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) based on the completely randomized design and
if any variables that shown the significant effect thus it would be tested using the
Duncan’s test/multiple distance test (Gomez and Gomez, 2010). The results of
statistic analysis showed that providing the different level of water gave the
significant effect (P<0,05) to the height of plant gain and number sprout of
Pennisetum purpureum cv Mott, whereas it gives the most effect (P<0,01) to the
diameter stem of Pennisetum purpureum cv Mott. The average of height plant gain
was 1,50 cm/week, number of sprout gain 1,25 buds/week and the diameter of stem
1,42 mm/week
