<note>The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of moringa leaf meal 
and amino acid sintetic on the growth performance of starting broilers. A total of 180
day old chicks broilers (unsexed, Cobbs) were randomly distributed to 18 pens (10
birds/pen). The experimental desgn used was factorial randomized design, with the
first main factor was the level of moringa leaf meal (MLM; 0, 5, and 7,5%) and the
second main factor was amino acid (AA; -, +). Variables measured were feed intake
(FI), body weight gain (BWG) and feed conversion ratio (FCR). The results showed
that except for BWG, the level of MLM did not significantly affect (P>0.05) FI and
FCR. The BWG of broiler fed 7.5% MLM diets was similar (P>0.05) to those who
were given 5% MLM diets; but, it was significantly (P<0.05) higher than that of
control diet. The AA, as well as the combination between MLM x AA did not affect
(P>0.05) all parameters measured in this experiment. To sum up, the inclusion level
of MLM up to 7.5% in a balance diet did not negatively affects on the growth
performance; even, it improves the BWG of starter broilers. The utilization of
synthetic amino acid (L-lysine and DL-methionine) in a balance diets with or without
MLM did not give beneficial effect on the growth performance; but, it can still be
included in order to reduce the expensive protein source ingredients</note>
