PENGARUH LEVEL PENGGUNAAN MINYAK KELAPA DALAM RANSUM TERHADAP KUALITAS FISIK PAKAN PELLET AYAM BROILER FASE GROWER

This research had been conducted in mini feed mill and laboratory of nutrition and
feed of Kupang State of Polytechnic of Agriculture in August 2019. The objective
of the present study was to evaluate the level of coconut oil in broiler diets on the
physical quality of pellet. The experimental design used was randomized
complete design consisting of four treatments and five replications. The
treatments were P0 ( 0% coconut oil), P1 (1% coconut oil), P2 (2% coconut oil)
dan P3 (3% coconut oil) Variables measured were specific gravity, (pellet
durability indexs, PDI), kerapatan tumpukan (KT), dan sudut tumpukan (ST). The
results show that treatments did not significantly (P > 0.05) affect pile density and
pile angle.but it affected (P < 0,05 to 0,01) the specific gravity and pellet
durability index. Inconclusion,1) the addition of coconut oil with different level in
broiler diets did not improve the pile density and pile angle of pellets; 2) as
increase the coconut oil level, the higher the pellet durability index. 3) there was
an increase tendency in specific gravity of pellet asthe level of coconut oil
increased
